The system aims to enable greater numbers of organisations gaining accreditation against ISO 17020 and 17025 within a supportive framework that reduces the impact on their resources.
The solution will allow the CSFS to implement and manage a bespoke quality management system in line with the required quality standards.
The system will allows users (scheme participating organisations of SPOs) to share and manage their quality management system utilising standard (core) documents produced and managed by CSFS; forms and processes which they can opt in to along with their own and others standard operating procedures, shared with collaborative partners.
Stuart Gunning, Business Development Director of Equiniti’s public sector software division, commented:
“We are delighted to be working with The Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences in developing a new approach to quality management. We hope that a growing number of forensics organisations in the UK and globally will recognise how such supportive teamwork like this could empower their business and facilitate collaborative working.”
“The Forensic Science Regulator (FSR) has been clear in its wishes that industry participants recognise that there is equity in quality and that the same standard applies to all forensic units large and small. This platform allows smaller units to reach their goals more effectively.”
Dr Anya Hunt, Chief Executive Officer at the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences, commented:
“Working with Equiniti over the past few months has helped us to truly create a bespoke system to achieve our goals. We have benefited from the team’s vast experience and expertise while implementing the quality management system.”
“We are excited that we can now take this service out to our members and showcase it highlighting we have listened to small forensic units in delivering a simple to use, cost effective and supportive quality management system enabling them to effectively work towards accreditation.”
